SENATOR CAPITO RECEIVES HuntPAC ENDORSEMENT

CHARLESTON, WV – The Capito for West Virginia campaign announced HuntPAC, the political arm of the Huntington Regional Chamber, endorsed Senator Shelley Moore Capito.

“At a divisive time in our country’s history, Senator Capito is a public servant that all West Virginians can be proud of and support,” said Bill Bissett, President & CEO of the Huntington Regional Chamber. “Senator Capito was endorsed by our Chamber when she first ran for the United States Senate in 2014 and she continues to work hard to represent West Virginia’s interests in Washington, DC. She also has an excellent staff of professionals in her offices that are smart, quick to help, and understand the needs of our businesses here at home. Even though she represents the entire Mountain State, we see her here in our region frequently, and appreciate the priority and understanding that she gives to the Huntington area. We’re fortunate to call Shelley Moore Capito our United States Senator and look forward to working with her in the next six years.”

Senator Capito released the following statement, “Thank you to the members of the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce (HuntPAC) for your confidence in me. I’m honored to have your endorsement. We have made a lot of progress turning our state’s economy around. I stand ready to work with you in the years to come.”

HuntPAC joins the West Virginia Healthcare Association, West Virginia Automobile and Truck Dealers Association, West Virginia Manufacturers Association and ABC West Virginia in supporting Capito’s reelection. Capito has previously been endorsed by Ambassador Nikki Haley, Congressman David McKinley, Congressman Alex Mooney, Congresswoman Carol Miller, Auditor JB McCuskey, Agriculture Commissioner Kent Leonhardt and Attorney General Patrick Morrisey. The overwhelming majority of the Republican members of the state legislature, led by Senate President Mitch Carmichael and Speaker Roger Hanshaw, offered their support to Capito’s reelection campaign. Republican National Committee Members, Kayla Kessinger and Larry Pack, are backing Capito. The West Virginia Federation of College Republicans was the first group to endorse Capito after she announced her reelection campaign earlier this year.
