CHARLESTON, WV – The Capito for West Virginia campaign announces Senator Shelley Moore Capito received the endorsement of the West Virginia Oil Marketers and Grocers Association (OMEGA).
“We are pleased to support Senator Shelley Moore Capito in her campaign for reelection to the U.S. Senate. Senator Capito is a champion for lower taxes and less regulations that enable our members to be successful. She has been a partner working with us to deal with regulatory issues that impact our members. We need her fighting working for us in the Senate,” said President Traci Nelson.
Senator Capito released the following statement, “I appreciate the support of the members of the OMEGA. The members of OMEGA are small business owners who serve residents in communities across the state. They provide good paying jobs to our workers. I am committed to working with them to lower taxes and get government out of the way so their business can succeed.”
ABOUT OMEGA
The West Virginia Oil Marketers & Grocers Association (OMEGA) promotes the business interests of those engaged in the petroleum marketing, retail grocery and convenience store industries within the State of West Virginia. Most OMEGA members are home grown West Virginia businesses. The nearly 150-member companies employ over 2.5 percent of the State’s population – more than 50,000 residents. Employees of member companies blend the fuels, deliver the gasoline, stock the shelves and work the counters – all of which brings comfort and convenience to your life.
Senator Capito filed for a second term earlier this month. OMEGA joins The West Virginia Trucking Association, HuntPAC, the West Virginia Healthcare Association, West Virginia Automobile and Truck Dealers Association, West Virginia Manufacturers Association and ABC West Virginia in supporting Capito’s reelection.
Capito has previously been endorsed by Ambassador Nikki Haley, Congressman David McKinley, Congressman Alex Mooney, Congresswoman Carol Miller, Auditor JB McCuskey, Agriculture Commissioner Kent Leonhardt and Attorney General Patrick Morrisey. The overwhelming majority of the Republican members of the state legislature, led by Senate President Mitch Carmichael and Speaker Roger Hanshaw, offered their support to Capito’s reelection campaign. Republican National Committee Members, Kayla Kessinger and Larry Pack, are backing Capito. The West Virginia Federation of College Republicans was the first group to endorse Capito after she announced her reelection campaign earlier this year.
