CAPITO SECURES WEST VIRGINIA CHAMBER ENDORSEMENT

CHARLESTON, WV — The Capito for West Virginia Campaign announced that Senator Shelley Moore Capito has received the endorsement of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce.

“The West Virginia Chamber of Commerce PAC is proud to endorse Senator Shelley Moore Capito for re-election. Senator Capito has always been a champion for business in our state,” stated Chamber President Steve Roberts. “As a member of the United States Senate she works tirelessly to connect all areas of our state to high-speed broadband internet.”

Roberts went on to say, “When the COVID-19 pandemic began, Senator Capito was a leader on passing much needed Paycheck Protection legislation that has helped countless small businesses stay open, and she continues to push for important liability protections for our small business neighbors. Senator Capito was also instrumental in passing the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, which has given a tax break to hard-working West Virginians and opened the door for more opportunity zones in West Virginia.”

Senator Capito responded, “It is an honor to have the strong support of the West Virginia Chamber PAC in my race for reelection. I support pro-growth policies that allow our businesses to expand and create jobs for our workers. The businesses that make up the Chamber represent thousands of workers who I want to continue to serve as their voice in the U.S. Senate.

Senator Capito previously secured the endorsements of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, The National Federation of Independent Businesses, The West Virginia Coal Association, OMEGA, The West Virginia Trucking Association, HuntPAC, the West Virginia Healthcare Association, West Virginia Automobile and Truck Dealers Association, West Virginia Manufacturers Association and ABC West Virginia.

Capito has previously been endorsed by Ambassador Nikki Haley, Congressman David McKinley, Congressman Alex Mooney, Congresswoman Carol Miller, Auditor JB McCuskey, Agriculture Commissioner Kent Leonhardt and Attorney General Patrick Morrisey. The overwhelming majority of the Republican members of the state legislature, led by Senate President Mitch Carmichael and Speaker Roger Hanshaw, offered their support to Capito’s reelection campaign. Republican National Committee Members, Kayla Kessinger and Larry Pack, are backing Capito. The West Virginia Federation of College Republicans was the first group to endorse Capito after she announced her reelection campaign.
